Hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving, i know i did! We had way too much food~ Praise God for it though, except when you are trying to lose weight. HA! We had a great week last week, my family and I spent a few days in Resaca. We had a great time and wonderful fellowship and preaching. We love the camp because God has used it to change our lives many times, for example, putting my husband and I together and starting Bible Truth.
Last night my family and i went to Fantasy in Lights located in Pine Mountain, GA. We had a great time together. It has been a tradition ever since Jim and I started courting. As a matter of fact, Jim and I will celebrate 9 years of knowing each other on Sunday. Did I mention that was the exact same day that he told me he was going to marry me? Oh, yes, our story sounds like a fairy tale, but when God is in it you never know what may happen.
It all started at the November campmeeting in 1997. My husband (now) asked my pastor in the (BATHROOM OF THE FAITH BAPTIST CAMP) if he had any girls of marrying age at his church that he could pray about. He said I know that sounds strange, but God told me to ask you. My pastor said, "Yes, but I am afraid she is about to make some wrong decisions about God's will in her life." So he told Jim, "Her name is Jennifer." That night my pastor asked Jim to come preach at our church on December 3. So all Jim knew was that my name was Jennifer. He didn't know anything else about me. So during this time he kept praying about "Jennifer". So December 3 came and I see this guy going across the parking lot and they told me that he was going to preach tonight. Well, I still didn't think anything about it. (During all of this time, I had been praying for God's will in my life, I even asked all of the ladies to pray!) So anyway, i go inside and this preacher keeps looking at me, (he was actually giving me the creeps, if you want to know the truth!!) (He still didn't know that i was Jennifer, he told me that the Holy Ghost pointed me out as I walked in the door) I wasn't the only young lady in the church! Anyway, he kept asking me a lot of questions about my life. He even asked the pastor if I could sing. So he preached and I really got a lot of help that night from the message, but I still didn't think anything, but this preacher is nice and I'm glad that there are young preachers around that preach truth. This is when it happend! After church he walks up to my mom (because my dad is working)and introduces his self and tells my mom he's going to marry me!!! My mom says, "I believe it!" Now I think their both crazY!! He comes to me and tells me he's going to marry mE!! I said, "That's nice, your crazy!" I was scared to death~! I walked away!!! I thought everyone had lost their mind! He asked for permission to call me on the phone the next day! He told me on the phone the next day that he loved me!!! I said, "That's nice!" A few weeks later a lady in our church rebuked me kindly and said, "You've asked us to pray, God's answered our prayers!" What could I say then, but Oh, me~ Well, something must have worked because we got married within a year and a half (that was because I hadn't finished high school yet! He tried to convince me to let him homeschool me, but I wasn't that crazy!) He had to go through a lot to get my love (he had to propose to me twice) on the second time, I don't think I ever even said yes!!! I just got real embarrased in front of all the people and hit him on the arm! I love him dearly!! (If you don't believe me, ask Jessica of jessica's journal for jesus, she was there!) So through all of that we have been married for 7 years, have 3 children, started an independent baptist church, and who knows what the future holds! TO GOD BE ALL OF THE GLORY!!

Awwwww.... I am so glad you posted yours and Bro Jim's coutship story on here. I cried as I read it. (I have ALWAYS loved to hear how God put yall together!) Yes I do remember all of that... and the Lord was DEFINATLY in it!! Isn't it great to see the Lord working and putting things together!! The Lord has been working in Mine and Ronnie's Courtship as well. I'm praying that the Lord will make a way for us to be married soon. (I know the Lord can do it!!) You are one of the few people that understand how hard it is to wait. (Don't get me wrong... courting is Biblical, and it is the right thing to do) The "right" way isn't always the easiest, but it is always the best way!! I'm so glad that the Lord allow Ronnie and I to go through the Courting process, I know that it will make our Marriage wonderful. Please continue to pray for us. We appreciate your prayers!! Love you, Jessica

Thank you for posting your testimony of you and Bro. Jim's courtship. I enjoyed reading it as I've enjoyed hearing it be told by you and Jessica. I would have loved to be saved and know about courtship when I was a teenager and young person...but I didn't. I could have avoided alot of heartache and mistakes had I known. But God knew I wouldn't know then and that I'd learn later on down the road so we could teach our children about courtship and the blessings that come with it in marriage. Pray for Ronnie and Jessica as well as all of us parents. The devil has sure fought in every way through this...but we are all determined to not let him have his way but for God to get the glory and have His perfect will in it. I love you!!
