We need to just stand still
"Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth." Ps. 46:10
God has really been dealing with my heart about that verse. So often time we get our minds on everything else but him. We get so busy doing everything else that we forget about him. I love to think a lot. My mind is constantly going. I love to figure things out. God has been dealing with me about putting more prayer and scripture in my mind. Not that I am filling it with bad things, but that I am filling it with things other than the Lord and his Word. "And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of a good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things." Phil 4:7-8 This is the first verse that come to mind. If I could just think on these things, I would never allow flesh or Satan to come in my mind and discourage me, or make me doubt, or fear, or get bitter, etc...How do I get help in that area? Romans 12:2 "And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God." "For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but might through God to the pulling down of strong holds; Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of God." II COR. 10:5 We need to keep our minds on things above. There are many verses that I could put with this subject, but these are the ones the Lord wanted me to put down. We could get more accomplished for the Lord if our minds were totally submitted to the will of God. When our minds are on the Lord and the good things of the Lord, it will often times create praise and worship to the Lord, that is the reason why Satan wants our minds on things away from God! Have a great day~

This is very good Mrs Jennifer. I believe one of the problems with the church today is we are too busy doing are own thing and not standing still and letting God do his thing. Good thought.

You are so right Sis!!! It's not that we are filling our minds with bad things but just not the Word or thoughts of Him. We fill our thoughts with homeschooling our kids or going here and doing this or going there and doing that. We get ourselves so busy and bogged down that we neglect to think of the Word of God or God Himself.

Great post today. It is so easy to take our eyes off of Him and put them on the here and now.
Great reminder, thank you.

My cousin just blogged about "being still" the other day.
Congratulations on your new nephew! We've heard his daddy preach before and have seen him at several meetings.
